The marching band is high school students that are in band led by 1 director and 2 assistant directors. All students in the band program are members of the marching band. We perform at all home games, select away games, playoff games, and parades. The band performs a show at all venues scheduled per the director. We participate in local marching band contests as well as the OSSAA regional-marching contest.
Marching season begins in the summer! Prior to the school year start is band camp, this is generally two weeks of extremely important teaching (check calendar for dates). Percussionists are the heartbeat of our Cougar band and have an extended week of band camp and arrive for early morning practices in the fall. We meet during school hours in the fall to prepare for Friday Night Lights and marching competition season. Color guard may have additional practices to learn choreography as well as drill.
The Ada Cougar Marching Band is a public performing group and is a successful part of the band program.
